Every year, 200 caravans travel into Mexico from the United States and Canada. We are known as one of the best for our "almost free" prices and outstanding service. We offer you a reliable, hassle-free tour all the way from San Diego to the tip of the Baja peninsula.

Our story begins
In 1982, Casi Libre's owner and tour leader Brian Ringham sat parked in his van at the side of the road, 300 yards from the Mexican border. He wondered, Do I go or do I not? Everyone he knew had a horror story about a friend of a friend. Thoughts ran through his mind...What if I get lost, what if I get robbed by banditos, what if my van breaks down? I can’t speak Spanish, will I be cheated out of every dollar I have, what about the dreaded Federalies and bribes? Ten agonizing minutes later he crossed into Baja, Mexico, never to be the same person that sat parked on the side of the road. Did he meet banditos? No. Did his van break down? Yes. Did he manage without Spanish? You bet. He was never cheated, the federalies were professional and helpful, and in 30 years he has never had to offer a bribe. Brian fell in love with the friendly people, the amazing vistas, the climate, the beaches and the reasonable cost of living in this land of little ‘a’ Adventure.

Brian's love and passion is camping and RVing in Mexico. Everything he has learned, felt and experienced wintering in Mexico, he would glady give for free and often does. Unfortunately, enter the real world. With fuel costs, employees, vehicle maintenance and other expenses, he has worked out a next-best plan.

Casi Libre offers a 28 day RV Caravan into and out of the Baja, travelling round trip approximately 2200 miles for an "almost free" price. Our caravans stop and relax at places of special interest all the way, including the Los Cabos area, with many extra activities, side tours and beach days. Most important, the main purpose of our caravans is to equip all members of each tour to be able to return to Baja on their own, with the knowledge and confidence imparted by the staff of Casi Libre Caravans.
